Originals need to be sent for verification. I mailed mine to BLS in Ottawa. Its been a bit under two weeks. I hope to receive my originals next week. Its a bit nerve wracking to think that the original citizenship certificate is with them.
They are too slow. It takes 21-25 days to get an acknowledgement from OCI site, while OCI Apps submitted to Vancouver offices gets OCI ack in a week (sometimes in days) and their OCI's are printed by the time TO OCI apps gets the ack.
My kid's OCI appln was sent on Feb 28th, for two weeks Purolator didn't have any clue where the package was. But somehow miraculously delivered it on Mar 16th. Needless to say I am not going to opt for this service ever again with all the ordeal BLS and Purolator put me through. They keep referring to me to the other and BLS agent was audacious even to try sell me another pick up service.

Today status of the surrender certificate has been changed and reflected as 'Surrender Certificate has been printed'. Based on experience when it is expected to be sent to BLS, Brampton and able to collect it personally from BLS Office.

Although excited that it is coming pretty much on a fast time frame, but we are travelling out for a few days, so I just changed the delivery preferences to signature not required and to be left at the front door, from where fellow tenants can keep it until we return.
Please confirm what we are uploading for minor OCI at Consulate site? The site has option to upload below listed documents only. Minor was born in India with prior Indian passport and Parents were also Indian but now all Canadians. As per info in OCI application form looks like only Current Canadian passport and Prior Indian passport bio pages for Indian Origin Proof. But is anything else need to e uploaded in Consulate site ? I know BLS has different list for actual paper submission for Minor OCI.

A) Can i take one Money Order for all the 3 ? or do i need to take seperate for each other. For OCI they mentioned family can take one but i didn't see anything for Surrender certificate.
B) All applications to be in one envelop like citizenship application or Individual envelop for everyone then place them in a big envolep to make it one pack to go. return i am sure it is seperate lables. When i try to book myself online, pickup shows 1 lable with 70 dollars and return each seperate lable. Just want to make sure.
C) I am planning to send without Canadian passport. I called Passport line given by the Service Canada. The agent told me " we are experiencing delays, i do apologize, there is no update on the file, we received it but not approved Yet, but i see no issues with the application. it may take around 6 weeks to 2 more months from today (I already past 31 days and dispatch date was 20th April). We will mail out your SON birth certificate a week before mail out or 2 weeks after mail out. Don;t worry the document will be kept safe." I am not expecting my passport any soon, so thinking to send it out without passport with an explanation letter. To know this information i was in Queue from 374 calls ahead of you to get my call answered took around 1 hour 16 minutes. Not going to call anymore.

Yes you can, Canadian PP is not mandatory for Surrendering an Indian PP, with the SC application you just need to provide an explanation letter that you cannot submit Canadian PP.
