I just applied today. I want to share for those of us who are single that in addition to documents on the checklist, they asked for a signed letter of declaration (handwritten) that states that your marital status is "unmarried".
Ques1: Anybody applied for Surrender Certificate and OCI card simulatenously in Montreal ? Asking this because checklist of OCI says one cannot do it simultaneously
Ques2 : Can I submit applications for my wife and daughter or they have to go with me ? Asking this because the https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ocihome.php says "An Application Form cannot be submitted at the Visa Application Centre on an applicant's behalf."
I am doubtful even after they have written these conditions on the website, hence asking here so that can verify from the person who did all this in Montreal (if any otherwise will call them tomorrow )

In Toronto, they allow family member to submit the application however you still have to go if opting for pick up of the documents rather than courier.
Montreal may be different though.
From Saskatchewan: BLS surrey received my application(both surrender and OCI) Nov. 23 by Purelator which i paid through them($90 altogether just courier alone). I received Surrender letter back last week with my cancelled Indian Passport. So it took two weeks to process it. Now, I'm just waiting for OCI.
About the OCi process.....i got married in India so my marriage certificate is from India...do you know if they accept it as is here in GTA? I heard some ppl had to get an affidavit done from a lawyer here in Canada. Please can someone share their experience in Brampton office?
