Hi, I got my Canadian passport today. I am travelling to Indian on Feb16th , I am thinking of Applying E-visa and OCI same time .Wondering if this is allowed ? for OCI, do i need submit my Canadian passport or Copy is ok ? ( will be doing postal application)

self attested copies are Ok,

I guess applying E-Visa and OCI wouldn't be an issue. ( I applied for Entry Visa and OCI together ).

my 2 cents .....if possible go in person .....and take originals and copy.....and they will take whatever is required....verify the originals and return it.

Go to - Reprint Appointment Letter - Use Passport# to Generate/Print current appointment letter(which will have the appointment#) and then Go to Cancel Appointment

Hello, I am newbie, I applied OCI by post, the returned that my fathers name should match with Indian passport.
Earlier they told me that they will communicate with email, there was no point in sending all 4 members application back, any ways below are my timeline.

BLS Brampton application date- Dec 9th.
Status - Processing at Consulate General
OCI - No record found

Anyone with the same date ? any update ?

OCI shows no record found, where did you get the date of acknowledgement ?
On BLS it shows only Processing at Consulate General, while OCI shows no record found !

Yeah, my spouse suggested that too but I am reluctant to do it as it is an official document and I don't want to take a risk to ruin it.
Moreover, Consulate should take the responsibility to correct it. I do not have any immediate travel plans so will wait for consulate's response.

Consulate replied and asked us to visit them on any Wednesday to get this corrected.

On BLS it shows only Processing at Consulate General, while OCI shows no record found !

For my son, till last week it was no records found at OCI. This morning the status was under process on OCI (BLS is still at underprocess). So I would hazard a guess that your application would also show up on OCI status portal in couple of datys.

You need a surrender certificate to apply for OCI so that adds to the timelines as well.

11 Nov submitted at BLS Brampton, 29 Dec approved with OCI number so it takes around a month and a half.
