I guess you can try reaching out to the consulate. The OCI website does provide the OCI number. Perhaps you can use this info to ask the consulate expedite the final steps of this process. I wrote to them via the Sampark portal. I also called BLS and according to their agent, the OCI is currently with the consulate and they will send it to BLS who will then send it to us via courier. This whole process can take more than a week.

Why cant I check the sampark link, whenever I put in my email address, it just refreshes..and nothing happens..this is for surrender certificate

Yes that's right, and we have to send the same documents through mail.

Yes. You may be able to submit without the surrender certificate (as long as you have proof that you have applied for surrender). This in general depends on the jurisdiction. Toronto does not allow surrender + OCI together.

reasonably accurate, i got mine in about 10 working days.

How much time does Surrender Certificate take to arrive by Postal? My application reached on 1st MArch. Consulate website shows granted available for issuance from 2 weeks. Wondering how much time it would take. For OCI application, can we combine Drafts for family memebers?

Hey guys, sorry new to the forum and I’ve been reading through last 20+ pages, where can I find the ‘Status on Passport Portal’?

Log in to https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html using the same account you used to create the SC application. Wait a few seconds, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page.

If CGI has received your application, then you will see a File No. and will be able to see the stats by clicking on the line, and then clicking the Track Application Status.

Use https://www.blsindia-canada.com/toronto-jurisdiction/track-application.php to track the status on BLS's website.

Hello everybody. I am applying for OCI from Ottawa. I spoke to somebody at BLS and paid for pick up and drop off because no appointment are available until the end of May. The information on the Indian High Commission Page and the BLS website seems to be a bit different. Did anybody notice these discrepancies? This forum has been very helpful. I look forward to getting some advice from someone who recently went through the process in Ottawa. Thank you very much.

For surrneder certificate applicationDo you need to paste the photo on application or just need to hand it over with the application form ?

My advice is don't paste. Hand it over to them and they will paste it in the appropriate place.
