This is regarding my surrender cert by postal app.

Surrender certificate has been printed – showing on account since 23rd Dec 2021, and BLS showing processing by consulate. No updates since then. Any one facing same issues??

No BLS updated tracking number for purplator on their website when I checked application status

Do you mean each day they will open up some walkin appointments and we need to book around that 8.20am for same day? or do we need to book before? For OCI I dont see any slots till March 2022,One the spot booking might help me.

Hey, you don't need to select an option of OCI for OCI...you can select either Passport or Visa and do the OCI application!

Re appointment, yes correct, BLS Brampton opens up slots every morning between 8.20 am to 9 am for the same day slots. good luck!

This seems to be brand new rule. Is it applicable only to Ottawa jurisdiction or entire Canada?

The rule is absolutely correct! I've been a victim of it lol and it should be for all jurisdiction on my opinion!

How long did they say it might take for the surrender certificate & canceled passport to arrive? I have an OCI appointment for Jan 20, hoping to get canceledp/port before then

In my case it took 2 and half weeks! good luck!

Hi i have applied for OCI and in BLS site it shows processing at consulate general. Anyone know how much time it takes to get acknowledgement?

Hey, you don't need to select an option of OCI for OCI...you can select either Passport or Visa and do the OCI application!

Thank you for your reply. Same day appointments are only in Brampton? I am in Scarborough is it same in scarborough, If anyone know? Otherwise I will go to Brampton.

I can talk about my experience in BLS Brampton.
If you already have a indian citizenship surrender certificate, then you can. Else you have to wait for the actual certificate before applying for OCI

Heard that BLS Vancouver might allow. But not sure.

Hey Guys, Quick question about OCI application.
I am doing pick up/Drop off service.
Website says "A) For Ottawa & Toronto Jurisdiction: Fees payable under this section is for BLS Processing fee + Courier fee only "

But, when you book pick up service, have to pay courier fee online. Does that mean I have to get draft prepared for BLS for just the processing fee which is $7.40? along with another draft for Consulate of India.
