When you fill the application form online and upload the documents a application number will be provided which you can use.

"It is brought to the attention that with effect from 31 October 2024, all the OCI applicants have to sign a Declaration along with the prescribed documents as per the OCI checklist at the time of submission of OCI applications at the BLS.

This Declaration should be uploaded at the OCI portal under any of the tabs of the Uploading Section.

The Declaration may be downloaded at CLICK HERE. "

>> Found above on cgitoronto Website.
>> How to get the "file reference number" even before submitting the Final application??

This is what available on google and overall process
If anybody gets any help from Indian consulate, can you share here as I am not sure whether we can do the voter id surrender from Canada through consulate or do we have to go to India and submit to election commission . Thanks

I just did this online on ECI website after signing up and filling up the profile with EPIC number and Indian phone number. You may need an Indian phone number or email ID alone may suffice. This is something to be checked. Form 7 has some fields that need to be filled with their digital keyboard.

Once submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement.

Hello
Applying for my baby, Toronto jurisdiction, application for minor, I have few questions :

-self attested documents are only of BLS, not online, right ?

-for the non objection letter, at the bottom parents need to put their photos and it says any size. So can we put any ID size photos ?

-also I noticed that the list of documents is different for other areas like Vancouver or Ottawa, they have additional documents like, status of parents here and the checklist itself to be printed. For Toronto, it doesn't mention those documents ( https://www.blsindia-canada.com/tor...-OCI-Card-for-Minors-Toronto-Jurisdiction.pdf ). Just to make sure I don't need to add them.

-Yes only the documents that you submit to BLS need to self attested
-Yes you can use any ID size, but knowing BLS and there nitpicking they may throw a curve ball on it on the counter, so better to stay with the size specification for the main application photo
- When you read the requirement on the documents you are required to submit copy of parent's passports, which kinda defines the status of parents in country if they are on WP, PR etc

Where can I check the status of my OCI application?
I applied for OCI at BLS Mississauga using Premium lounge for all four of us in family on November 1, 2024. I’ve booked the flight to India for January 5, 2025 but not sure if I will get the OCI by that time so planning to apply Visa latest by December 15-20 if nothing hears back from the office.
Today received a message on mobile saying “Your application is under decisioning at Consulate”.
Is there anyone can assist me with current timeline and expectations of having OCI by mid of December.
Every suggestion will be appreciated and helps a lot.

You did not mention where you applied as processing speed is different for Ottawa/Vancouver/Toronto.

Perfect, thanks.
I'll gather the documents and submit them
