[Ottawa] Anyone did a Postal application for OCI card for a minor recently and sent the Original Passport and Birth certificate?
I called BLS and they are asking me to send an Original Canadian Passport and Birth certificate along with copy and the also want me to take a courier service to get those original docs back. Seems scam to me, but they are the Boss
I have applied for my OCI in Feb 2024, the acknowledgement date is 10th Feb and my application is still under process. The mission is Vancouver. is this in normal processing time ? would really appreciate if someone can share there experiences

Yes. We did the same on March. Got the passport and birth cert back in a week I think. Current status shows that the document is processed and dispatched from Delhi.

OCI cards received - nothing much to say, but, just relieved that this “office-office” game with BLS is over - for now! Now need one for our baby next year
OCI cards received for my wife and myself. Waiting for my toddler son's OCI (which is with BLS right now) Just another 3-4 days and will be done with BLS.. !

Any went through pre-approval process for lost passport? Wondering how long does it take to get reply for pre-approval. My wife applied for the pre-approval using the Suvidha portal (Ottawa jurisdiction).

Hello everyone, I am planning to apply for the OCI and for that I have to surrender my Indian passport. I noticed that I have to provide the copy of Canadian passport. Do I have to sign on page 3 of my Canadian passport?
If yes then how do you sign 3rd of page of Canadian passport where it says signature of bearer. Do I just simply write my name or regular signature which I use everywhere (Indian passport, bank, etc)
