Same timeline, travel is Nov 26. Called BLS 3 times as my status on BLS website went straight to counter delivery to BLS after OCI stamping. And they said it will be ready next week. Not sure if I should trust them.

You are likely to get OCI in hand before the end of Nov.
I'm in a similar situation and this is what I'm doing:
Not filing entry visa application right away. Watch the trend and if it slows down in next two weeks reconsider.
Rationale: why clog down the system when a lot of people have more urgency

True and I don’t want to give away my passport in case my OCI is processed faster.

No, you should not trust them. With Oct 18 Ack in Vancouver, Nov 26 travel date is cutting too close. If I were you I'll apply for entry visa right away.

I have already given my best advice (see previous post). And you have enough info based on posts here and what you have heard from BLS to make a decision. But the decision is yours to make.
