Feel your pain, I'm in a similar situation, but about a month later when prices are even crazier. If you could, consider postponing the trip by a month to give time for the OCI process. Change fee for most tickets is usually the same until the day of the flight, but availability changes as you get closer to the travel date and prices go up too.

But in this situation I dont even know which date should I postpone too so I decided to wait till Oct 22nd to make final call.. Praying by that time evisas are open

Congrats Good to see OCI completion for Ottawa.

Now time for @sasharma25 @rizwan23arif @myindia @VimalSagar to see progress but there is a two week gap between @samdevban
date of acknowledgement and for other 4 in Ottawa.

Hope someone in between shares there timeline too

my acknowledgement date is for sept 15th. Its for OCI renwal. I got no update on the OCI website. Anyone in the same situation ??

Date of acknowledgement - 27 July
Mission - Toronto
Document printing status, dispatched from MEA, received at Toronto - 29 Aug
Received - 31 Aug
Total days - 42 days

Any OCI acknowledgements today for people applied to Mission Toronto? No update for me so far. Applied in-person on Sep 27th.

Thank you. Yeah, with family it could get difficult. Who are them in this line, "But I am also hearing a lot of them asking not to take that approach and instead defer the oath ceremony."

Mostly friends and acquaintances. Today I called up Ottawa high commission, they suggested against it, asked me to reach out Toronto consulate. Called them up, she said the same thing. Upon further questioning, she said to email the officer. I have emailed the officer now.

Seems like it is doable but for whatever reason, they are discouraging. Can’t figure why!

For walk-in applicants its mostly the next day unless its a Saturday as in this case (23 Sep).
