Expect it around by the end of Dec if you are in Toronto jurisdiction.
Vancouver, Ottawa jurisdiction make take a bit more time.

I applied for OCI on 9-Nov. It was a walk in application at Brampton. Current status shows that it is Dispatched from MEA on 10-Jan. I have a flight to India on 18-Jan. Can I wait for the courier or apply for evisa? Any idea when I can get it?

2-3 days it will take, will be close to your travel date. If nothing happens by 16 apply for evisa, you will have it within 24 hrs.
