Hi Folks,
I have applied back in November 2020 as family application, my wife just got an invite for test however I haven’t received that yet! Any explanation or any one faced the same??
Looking for your valuable input.
I don't understand why Oath is taking so much time. I saw people reporting attendance as low as 30 people, while others reported a 100. It seems 30 people is an underutilization of the capacity. Even 100 can be stretched. I also think people who are waiting for their oath can be put in a shared pool instead of waiting the officer to decide when a file should be scheduled for the oath.
I applied for my PR renewal sometime in June
I did my ceremony in Sept.
I just got two emails regarding my PR.
One says it's processing, one right after says the PR renewal application has been rejected due to me becoming a citizen.
They will be refunding my $50.
So my parents did their ceremony, It was a bitter sweet for me cause I am still waiting on my ceremony too. I had to opportunity to ask one of the officers that was handling the ceremony if she could explain why my parents went first and I didn't. (My parents applied in Jan 2020 and I applied Nov 2019 just for reference) Now this was the Mississauga office don't know what this means for other offices but she said they are currently doing 3 ceremonies per day with 33 applicants/ 6 days a week. Do the math that's just 100 people per day compared to what they say if "it was in person" 300 per day, 150 per ceremony. Her response to why my parent might had gone through first was that they are pushing through the seniors quicker and if I applied along with my parents my app would probably be theirs (I am guessing because my parents didn't have to do the test and they got less steps to go through) So then I asked if she could give me any info on my app cause my last stat update was march 2021. She then said my app is que for a scheduling. So I asked how much is in this que. She then said its ALOT. hahah! ALOT
I don't really know at this point, at that rate Mississauga Office is running, I am not going this thing done this year. I don't know why they are limiting the applicants to 33 per ceremony, cause zoom base plan has a limit of 100 by default so it cant be that, it must be something else. They could easy done more. But why not??

Their capacity is not even 33 I would say.The connection looked creepy with 33 attendees. They should increase the bandwidth to arrange a better video oath ceremony with higher number of attendees.
This is it. It's done.
I've lived in Canada since 2007.
My parent's PR got rejected and went back. I stuck around. My time to get the PR was limited due to army duty.
I'm 30 now and finally I got the closure.
It's been a journey but one that was worth it.
The certificate was delivered without tracking, however since it's from CIC, the mailman
knocked on my door instead of shoving it in my mailbox (it has do not bend stamp on it).
Good riddance from CIC and Canadapost.
Good luck to you all.
This will likely be my last post.
