Changed jobs recently and submitted employment letter through CSE. Called them today to confirm that they received it. Also asked about the status of my application.
The agent said that they received the docs and it went onto my file. One background is completed and one is ongoing. Eligibility is in process, and security will soon be taken up too.
Since I had her on the phone - I asked her how does the flow of an application work?
She said, and I quote "Everything looks good on your file. Thanks for uploading your new job details, it makes it easier for the officers to process when applicants provide as many docs proactively. As for the flow, there is really nothing consistent, whichever requires less in-depth analysis gets over first. Once Meds are done, we get onto eligibility. Security and background are usually done towards the end. But if something seems amiss, we go back to eligibility again - so its a bit of back and forth. As for yours, everything seems good and progressing at the right phase, eligibility looks good so far, so I have no reason to believe that you won't receive an update in the coming weeks"

From what I have seen, if someone is extra polite with them - in terms of saying please and thank you, and talking calmly rather that being demanding/worrying - they do show a lot of interest in having a nice chat with you. We should make our real intentions known like - 'yes, I checked my status online - but nothing moved so I just called in to see if I can get any additional info on where my file is at' - things like that.

i heard the phone calls go to your records. And i mean, you actually had a reason to call. I just ordered my notes and was glad to see that my file wasn't forgotten. Still think that communicating with them definitely serves as a reminder.

Agree. Its a good thing you ordered notes anyway. I did too (about 3 days ago) and hoping to get them probably by mid March. All the best, mate!
