I have similar question to the one above. My AOR is Nov 23rd, I have not received any emails with update yet. But when I logged in it said that my application status was updated. It says that I don't need medical exam still but background check changed to "Your application is in progress.". Does it mean anything?

It is refunded but it does in a few months, as far as I know. I don't want to wait and nervous about getting my money back.
For me, it is just a precaution

By the way, why do you think that paying the fee increases the speed?

IRCC pretty much clearly says that not submitting RPRF fee upfront will delay your application
