From what I have read so far about this on other threads. People who have received RPRF requests have gone on to get their PPR in 2-4 weeks Some have actually been delayed too but the major indication is that RPRF result is triggered when your application process is going fine and your file is moved to the local VO.
Hey sithlord, I think this is not entirely accurate, I mean about the part that rprf request meaning ppr is close by. As the guy above mentioned, they actually put the application on hold until the required fee is paid off. So it actually causes a slight delay.

Agreed. However, Ive observed RPRF request is a strong indication that eligibility is recommended passed and application is promoted for officers review.
Security and BG checks are usually done after RPRF is paid and that can take anywhere between 2 weeks to many months.

Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to say. What I have read from other threads is that usually RPRF request is triggered when Eligibility is confirmed and your application is ready to be sent to local VO once the fee is paid, so they can start the criminality and BG checks. Generally, it is considered as a strong indication that your PPR is on the way.

Obviously the application will be put on hold until the RPRF fees is paid. Then the application is moved to local VO abd the BG and security checks commence.
This is what I have read in the other threads. Sometimes, BG checks may have already begun when they request for RPRF.

So far from what I have read, 70% of the applicants get RPRF request when eligibility is completed. These are the ones who wait anywhere between 1-3 months depending on when they pay the fee as until then the file is put on hold. Later, it is sent to local VO for processing BG and criminality checks. So hence, the lengthy delay.
The other 20% get it when BG checks have begun.
The rare 10% get it when the application is approved. These lucky ones get the PPR in 2-3 weeks. I have read a guy who got his PPR in 17 days after his RPRF request, which he paid on the same day.
So it all depends on the Immigration Officer. Some like to move faster than others
Is this true? My AOR is Nov 14 and our medical exams are still "under review." We are a family of 4 (my kids are age 3 and 1), my husband and I have no health issues. We are coming from US.

I wouldn't worry too much. I was November 8th AOR, single applicant applying from US and only got my Medical Passed update this Past Friday (January 4th) almost 2 months after AOR. Every case is different, if you have no health issues then I wouldn't worry much..
