November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi All

I sent in my application in November 2017 and it was received by CIC on Nov 20th but the processing started from Jan 26th .......The current status shows:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 20, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 12, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on January 26, 2018.

Questions:
1. Does anyone know why there is this much gap between receiving and processing of the application? Is someone's situation matching with that of mine?

2. When do you think I can expect the test invite?

1. Because there is a significant queue due to a large influx of applications.

2. Anytime from tomorrow to 3 months from now.

Where is your processing office? I would suggest you take a look at the spreadsheet and compare your timeline to people with the same office.

Passed the test yesterday (20/20). Very easy test, most of the questions were common sense! Interview was straight forward too.
If in your passport, there are any stamps in languages other than English or French, make sure that you have them officially translated.

• Download Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship – Large Print (PDF, 526.77 KB).

• Download Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship – Large Print (PDF, 526.77 KB).

They are the same! one is with pictures and smaller font size, and the other one is only text content with large font size (no figure).
