I have the same question. Is the stream still open and taking new applications ? I want to apply ASAP but some of my documents won't be ready until December 2015 or January 2016, so have to know if I should apply as soon as I get my documents ready or wait for a new announcement for the 2016 intake ? Also, is the document for the proof of funds to be submitted along with the main application or can it be provided later on as a second step ?

They are still accepting applications, but a new online system will be implemented before the end of this year. As they still haven't announced how candidates will be processed in this new system, if you have the documents ready, it won't hurt sending. Your only expenses will be related to photocopies and posting the package. When the new system comes into effect, you can send an online application and, according to the outcome, you can cancel one of them.

Thanks a bunch for the reply. My documents (including IELTS) will be getting ready by mid/end December or maybe early January so the doubt will still remain. Let's see what happens as we come to the end of this year. I hope I would still be able to send my application.
One thing I have to get a definite answer about; is it mandatory to include the proof of sufficient funds document with the application itself or can it be provided later on at the second step if in case my application indeed gets selected ? If yes, is there any specific requirement for the time frame (3 months/6 months before the application ?) for which the funds must be present in your account and you need to show a bank statement for that period of time OR is it just that the funds be present in your account at the time of application and afterwards ? I have to get my mind clear on this somehow.

The proof of funds must be included in your application. They must relate to 3 months and there is no definition on the application guide as to whether the funds must have been in your account for the entire period or if you just need to show some acceptable progression. As a rule of thumb, you must make it clear that the funds are your and not originated from a loan. Be truthful and your safe.
If you have more questions, please take a look at the specific tread about the 2015 Nova Scotia stream. I know it is long, but try at least to read the postings after the first applicants sent their packages. Anyway, you have better chances of getting all answers you need by making your inquiries there.
