My thread got a little hijacked, but thank you everyone who replied with information regarding my issue! I appreciate all the links and advice! I will try and use the online "change of address" form but I do not have a Client ID yet (not being processed at the moment) so if it doesn't work I will either call or wait until my sponsorship has been approved.

If your husband is back in NZ at your old address (meaning you'll still get correspondence), consider waiting until you have step 1 approval (and hence a Client ID and file number) before advising them to minimize chances of the info getting lost.

My spouse will be joining me in a matter of weeks. We still have our family living at the address we provided though, so it's not a big deal if it gets mailed there while we are away. I am just worried they will not be satisfied with our evidence to return to Canada when we'll already be there! But I will wait for my step 1 to notify them
