I hold two citizenships and two passports (Argentina and Spain) (Spain is visa exempt, Argentina is not)
I entered Canada using my Spanish passport and didn't have any problems. When the time came to ask for my visitor status to be extended, I sent the papers and where it asked for passport number, I gave my Spanish one.
When I got my extension back (approved), they had printed my name, next to my Spanish passport number, however under the "nationality" thing it said Argentinian.
So when it comes to filling out the forms, or going to my medicals, I'm really not sure which one to bring/put down. I'm terrified I will bring one and they won't find it in their system and it will be a big problem/mixup..
GRAH!
What would you do?

Hi!
I'm pretty sure you could choose which passport you want to submit. But to make things easier, I would submit the Spanish one. The question is, which visa office will be processing your file? Would it be easier for you to go to Spain or Argentina if you were called for an interview?
Try calling CIC and ask them about your Nationality in your Visitor Record.. it does look strange. My husband told me that your "nationality" in Canada will always be your place of birth, whereas "Citizenship" would be any other acquired "nationality". He could be wrong though!
Something tells me I might have the same problem that you are now, as I hold 2 nationalities too (Argentinian and Mexican, coincidentially!).
I'll find out in a week more.
Good luck!

Ah! Hola, como estas?! There aren't many Argies on this forum!
Thanks for the info. It's a little confusing, yeah.. I will call CIC, though I have a feeling they won't know either. Maybe it's just me but the last couple times I called I seemed to get people that didn't seem to really know what they were doing.. :'(
So on your App, did you list both nationalities, or just one?
Buena suerte a vos tambien

Oh, I hope not, as although I was born in Australia and spend most of my childhood there, I have lived in UK for the last 18 years and I only ever use my British passport and not my Australian (which has been expired for over 15 years and not ever renewed), and I filled in all my forms saying I was British (which I always do).
So I really hope this isn't going to cause a problem for me.

Hola!!
I applied with my Mexican Passport, but I also mentioned that I had a valid Argentine passport in both my PR application and my extension.
I applied for the extension online and they clearly asked for that information, so I just gave it to them. I hope they won't get confused and realize my Multiple TRV is on my Mexican passport and not the Argentine one!
I mentioned it on my PR application specially because I was issued an old TRV on the Argentine one, before I even became a Mexican.
Glad to see another Argie in the forum as well!
Mucha suerte!
MandiF: Don't worry! I don't really know where he got this information from, hee hee

But I wouldn't be surprised if they, in fact, get confused with people's multi-nationalities. I'm strongly guessing that they will process according to the information you give them on the forms. So it will be fine.
