I have recently (within past 12 months) been classified as a Non-Resident Canadian inasmuch as I now live in Thailand. I will be visiting my sister in Ontario within the next week for approx. 3 weeks. I understand that I no longer qualify for OHIP, but as a senior citizen Canadian do I have any medical[flash=200,200][/flash] coverage and, if so, what?
The medical coverage you have as a senior citizen would also be OHIP. So if you don't currently qualify for OHIP due to your non-resident status you should purchase travel insurance to cover yourself in case of an emergency.

If you were to move back to Canada at some point, you would of course be able to apply for OHIP and get it after the 3 month waiting period. You would have to live in Ontario for at least 5 out of the first 6 months after you move and after that at least 5 months a year.
However, if you are just visiting, as others have said, you don't have access to OHIP and will have to make do with a private insurance whether you are ok with a travel insurance for emergencies or whether you buy something more extensive.
