I am currently filling out my application for EE but run into an issue with NOC code - the issue is as follows:
I have a BSc degree in Product Design.
My 2 years' experience is titled as "Mechanical Engineer" but is at least 80% product design (mechanically biased obviously).
EE application asks for primary occupation, but am not sure what NOC code to choose since "Mechanical Engineer" is a regulated profession which I am not currently eligible to practice in Canada, neither do I exclusively want to.
I don't know whether the NOC has to exactly match my job title or one of the example titles under the NOC code.
If I choose 2252 - Industrial Designers, will my application get penalised under the impression that because my job title is "Mechanical Engineer" my experience is not relevant when pretty much all of it is?
