Hi
I taught secondary school students in a privately owned coaching class. I'm extremely confused which NOC code applies to this?
Is it 4216 or 4021?
Please help!
4216 clearly states 'tutors who provide instruction in secondary subjects' in the lead statement but it's duties described are for driving/sewing/finishing instructors only.
4021 lead statement -trainers who are employed by private training establishments.
Mentions 'private training instructor'
And it's roles match perfectly with what I did.
What should be my NOC?
Please help. I'm very confused and my consultants don't seem to know the answer either
I agree I've gotten myself into a bind with my consultants. Thank you so much for your response.
Can I please ask you if the lead statement matters at all?
I'm worried because the NOC that my duties match up with is mostly listing college level designations. (NOC 4021)
While the other doesn't have duties listed, but mentions secondary school tutors. (4216)

I taught secondary school kids. Which may then make me fall under NOC 4216???
These are the duties for 4216-
Driving instructors-
Instruct individuals on proper motor vehicle driving skills and traffic regulations
Demonstrate and explain the handling and mechanical operation of motor vehicles
Supervise individuals during practice driving.
Driver's licence examiners-
Conduct road test examinations
Evaluate the driving ability of applicants for driver's licences.
Sewing instructors-
Give instruction to students in techniques and skills of sewing, tailoring and dressmaking.
Modelling and finishing school instructors-
Give instruction on comportment, personal development, make-up application and modelling techniques for fashion shows and magazine advertising.
They don't even list duties for a secondary school tutor BUT they have mentioned it in their lead statement and in the Titles.
