Nairobi Visa Office did take all my original certificates & testimonials including the scanned copies of the same. In fact I physically delivered them to the VIsa Office and they were categorical that the original documents will be retained as well.

You can send a case specific inquiry to the Nairobi VO. They will respond surely in this particular case.
