"Canada's post-recession economy demands a high level of legal immigration to keep our work force strong," said Immigration Minister Jason Kenney.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) estimates that they will welcome between 240,000 and 265,000 new permanent residents in 2011. 60 percent of these are expected to be immigrants who arrive in Canada on skilled immigration visas..little less than year 2010.
While a greater portion of immigration into Canada is expected to be via economic immigration streams, Kenney noted that other immigration routes are important for Canada as well.
There will be shortages in Canada of IT people but the real fact is they dont want more IT guys until sometime of Fall 2012. this is what has been reflected by the reply from some CHC's.
CIC has injected twice the number of immigrants in the the year 2008-2010 and it wants those PR's to get the jobs and then they'd think of us, but the scenario says that the already injected PR's are not being able to meet the IT demands of Canada. so the question remains, werent they disqualified for competing Canadian standards?
look at workopolis and other job sites, there are thousands of IT Jobs vacant and yet our files have been put into Cold storage. damn it.
Lots of people who got their 2nd AOR through normal post has some bar code and new E*** number but if somebody doesn't get any new no then what? anybody....
This week, Statistics Canada (StatsCan) reported that the Canadian economy added more than five times the expected number of jobs in November, a sign that the country's economic recovery is well underway.
"It was across many sectors, many full-time jobs, which are regarded as good-quality jobs because it means steady income and a steady flow of money back into the economy,".
The national unemployment rate dropped 0.1 per cent in December as a result of the 79,000 new jobs. The most populated provinces of Ontario and Quebec, in particular, saw a substantial increase in the number of jobs created. Those two provinces are common destinations for immigrants to Canada.

Their are a lot many people with this status. It probably means that you have cleared minimum eligibility (1 year of 38 NOC list experience or AEO or 1 yr. full time job exp. in Canada) but paper selection decision (Review) has not yet been completed.

Hey guys... I sent my passport to the embassy last December. This is in relation to the passport request they sent via email. As per email my visa will expire on October 2011. I haven't received word on the passport yet, even though I emailed them. Any chance of getting denied from this point?
