No visitor visa stamp

I'm sponsoring my husband inland soon but when he came to Canada on a visitor visa the border officer didn't stamp his passport. He was given 6 months and has no order to leave. How can we prove this other than his plane tickets?

You tell them the date that he came to Canada. I have been through the border 4 times with no stamp in my passport. I just wrote the dates in and there were no questions asked.
