No points in PR for online courses due to Covid 19

Hey guys, any updates on the topic we have been talking about? I am also starting my graduate program in May, 2021. It's a 16 months program, 4 semesters. not sure whether I could take 1 semester in my home country, or I should take the whole program inside Canada?

They say whether you are physicaly present in Canada or not online studies don't amount to CRS in EE.

Yep, binu_k is right, according to the current IRCC rules online education will not give any CRS points for Express entry. Doesn't matter if one was in Canada or not.

Education gained from Canadian university will be getting CRS points, IRCC can't distinguish what study was completed online and what was done in person. Don't follow twitter updates, those are parrots. Canada is supporting the students by giving them PR who completed education from Canada.

But that was in Nov 2020.... Provided they allow virtual learning as eligible for pgwp, then i dont see why not granting points

Until I hear firsthand experience, I will remain skeptical. Consultants have a motivation to lie

So any idea on this? I am in Canada. My studies started online since May 6th. University just told us that online classes will extended till Jan,2021. This looks bad if IRCC still has the same stance. Any update anyone?
