No Indian PCC even after 8 weeks

Bhanavig/Andy: I did not see any tracking link on chi toronto site. So even if we applied at cgi toronto, still we have to track status on vfs global site. Am i right ?


I assume we have collect PP and PCC etc at cgi toronto becausr we are applying there only fir both dob certificate and pcc sametime. Correct me if i am wrong.

Yes. You need to give a pre-paid return envelope when you apply at CGI Toronto. At VFS, you have the option of paying for return postage or collecting in person.

Even though you apply at VFS, your request will only be processed at CGI. You can track the application only on VFS portal and not on CGI website. But if you want your passport and PCC urgently, you need to approach only CGI in person after the minimum processing time (6 weeks). VFS will not be able to help you to fasten up the process.

Andy, I am assuming that I can just give one set of photocopies to CGI while applying for DOB and PCC or should I give 2 different sets of photocopies? Should I provide one photograph for DOB as well?

Also, the fee for PCC and DOB individually C$20.00 + $2 Consular surcharge. SHould the draft be taken for $20 or $22. I wish CGI ever picks up the phone...they hardly answer their phones

Bhanavig, do you know anyone who has done that and the time it took them to get the PCC?

Yes all my firedsa r doing the same and almost everbody is getting in 2 weeks time and in the worst case it was 3 and half week.

ok, could just reach CGI. They confirmed that the fee changed from $20 to $28 for DOB or PCC each.

I checked today and my status changed to:


Processed application has been dispatched from the Consulate General of India, Toronto on 08-Jan-2013 and the same is in transit to the India Consular Services Centre, Application Centre Toronto.

Can anyone help in understanding this???

This status means it will be available at VFS Centre tomorrow.

Applicants start lining up from 8 am at the doors of CGI Toronto. The office is on the 7th floor so very much a closed placed. All the best.

No free parking. You will have to find a paid parking nearby the location. Have quite a few nearby.

I think I need to go to VFS center in Bramton now to collect my passport and PCC, because VFS Toronto center(Eglinton one) is already closed from 31st dec, 2012.
