I didnt feel you but if your question is in relation to the amount of cash you can carry, pls see barsindoo's response which i agree with. 3k + 9k between yourself and your wife is no big deal at all.
Just declare how much you got on you.
I believe your wife and yrself should be able to carry that much but why do you want to do that. I'm just curious cos of anti money laundering issues i.e they may be asking you to give evidence of how you came about the money and may just unsettle you. I'm sure I wont want that. Otherwise, why not carry just the right amount and wire the rest after you've opened an account in canada. the other option is you might want to lie about how much you're carrying when asked at the airport, and honestly, that's not the way to go.
cheers.
My people,

My apps is going SLOW but steady and eCas is showing 'Recieved by Visa Office' since 10th June. I hope (and wait on d lord) to see it go into 'In Process' sometime this month. All the best with your document gathering stage and wishing you Gods speed and favour. Amen.

I had each page of my documents certfifed and notarised/stamped but for documents with two or more pages I got each page stamped (notarised) while the certification was done on the last page. For passports only the information (i.e. bio-data) page(s) need to be photocopied and notarised.

Hey guys, it is best to follow visa specific requirements religiously. I am not sure I have seen any requirement like that in Accra's requirements. Let us check and double check. Accra requires photocopy of passport bio-data pages and nothing more. It is not even indicated it has to be notarised. I stand to be corrected guys...
