Next Update of Processing Times on CIC website

Hey everyone,

Could someone please tell me when the next update on the CIC website will be in regards to processing times for spousal sponsorship applications abroad. The last quarterly update was on Jan 16 2013, so I thought the next update would have been this month. Thanks in advance!

CIC should have updated on 16th of April 2013 but they did not..May be in coming weeks they will update the processing time period.

Hello @ sadafh, this question was puzzling me as well because it appears that there are 2 different pages on the CIC website - one that says the info. was updated on April 24th 2013 and one that continues to say Jan. 16th 2013. Anyway I have sent an e-mail inquiry to Jason Kenney's office asking for CIC clarification. Will post the reply if I get one. Here is the question below and the link for forum friends to check. Let me know if I made a mistake!!

"I am writing to ask a question on behalf of many anxious spouses (including myself) that are waiting to be reunited with our loved ones. We are wondering why on one page of the CIC website, it appears that the quarterly update has not been done as of Jan. 16, 2013. On another page however it appears that it was done on April 24, 2013. This url is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Have we overlooked something? Could someone from your office please confirm/clarify/explain for us? We are ever hopeful that the visa offices abroad will have decreased the length of processing times for Canadian families to be together. Kind regards"

I'm not the Minister, but I can answer!

24th of April: that's the update for stage 1. It's done weekly, usually on wednesday during the day, or thursday morning.

the other one : 16th of January, is the quarterly update, which happens 4 times a year more or less... January, April, July, October.

that's what the note on CIC website means...
This information is updated weekly (step 1) and quarterly (step 2)

lol.....thanks Sweden you are way nicer, faster and more well-informed than the Minister.......and me! I would like to see if they do respond though. So why haven't they updated for April 2013 then? Will it not show until May? Thanks for the prompt correction

sometimes the quarterly update is posted to the site a month after, so it may be updated in May but show timelines as of April.

Thanks for clarifying @ blueboom. I guess we are all hopeful that we will see a miracle adjustment in reducing all of the visa processing times

Hi sadafh, yes Sweden is correct. Absolutely "if" I get a reply I will post it. I use to work for a gov't office (not immigration related) and it makes sense to me that their quarterly update would be a month or so behind........unfortunately. So we just hurry up and wait .

Hi Sadafh, I did not get any reply to my e-mail to the Minister's office (surprise ) but CIC has done the quarterly update for processing times on the website today. Info. effective as of April 24, 2013. Check it out.
