Yes, many times! they said "background checks" and don't call us again!

I send them email and they said "additional verification" required.
it mean additional verification = Background check ? or its all different categories ?
Hi there, I'm on the same truck... but my situation is little more complicated as PR application is still waiting for background check. I have applied my TRV on Oct 19 and contacted to CIC last Monday and they replied me back that the application under additional review. I'm truely frustrated about both PR and TRV application. Since long time I didn't visit my family. I'm completely stuck with this applications. Don't know what I can do. I'm in Canada since 2010. :-\

Hi Aseem, I just got same response regarding my TRV within Canada (I have an open work permit). It seems CIC does not understand the fact that even those who need a TRV to enter Canada have family outside Canada and careers to come back to. Could you please let me know how long it took CIC to send you a passport request? I would really appreciate your response.

I got my PGWP and then my TRV application got approved. I mailed my passport to OTTAWA (received on Sept 22) but did not get any response so far.
