Hi. I am finishing my 2 yr degree program this April 2025. My study permit (international student) will expire this July 2025. One of children finished grade 12 last July 31. Is it true that my child’s study permit has become invalid 90 days from his last day of class? He has been accepted in a university and we were told to apply for visitor Record and a new study permit.
I need to know if I should use the GC key I used in applying for us (our family of 4) or should my son being 18 yr old now should use create his own GC Key with ircc?

Yes. May not be able to restore status within Canada as more than 90 days. Create own GC Key with PAL, LOA. He will need to show proof of Funds plus one year tuition.

Thank you. There’s a part in the application that is asking for the current permit my son is holding, should we still put “study permit”? In the document it states that the permit expires next year yet. Sorry but I just need it clarified. Thank you for your kind reply.
