We recently got married, I'm Maltese & my husband is Canadian. We're just finalizing my spousal application form and I'm a bit concerned about my passport. I took my husband's name when we got married so I needed a new passport. In the application they request copies of the stamps on the passport indicating visits to Canada, obviously, most of these are on my old passport and the application is with my new passport (different number and all). Will this creat any complications with my application?
no it should not create any problem...just provide ur old and new passport number...provide them with the copies of both passports and it should be ok if u want u can prepare a covering letter listing all the documents u r sending and explain it there....
My husband's (Venezuelan - not-visa exempt) passport will expire in November 2012. Since normally it is requested that the passport be valid at least for 6 months prior to expiry date in order to travel he'll have to get a new one early this year. When this happens, does one simply notify the VO by sending copies or wait until they contact with PPR (which I can imagine not being the best moment to clarify)?
We know there's a chance that everything could be approved much before it actually expires and maybe even before we enter the 6 month time before it expires (we're going through Berlin and submitted early November 2011) but unfortunately Venezuelan embassies are not quick with renewing and nothing in immigration processes is assured, so we're planning for it ahead of time for the worst of cases.

Renew it and send them copies of it by email. That's the same as my husband's situation and that's what we did back in July. They notified us in our interview that they did receive the updated passport.
