I am stuck in Background checks as well since last may 2016 and I have travel history as wel I spent almost 5 years in uk on student visa and now in the next month my medical going to expire.
I don't know y they are taking so long may be they are giving us punishment why we applied canadain spouse visa. That's all

is your case complicated like second marriage or any divorce involved ?

Hi Gori,

I passed criminality 1 year ago in 2015 August. After my remedical I had to wait for 6 months to get PPR. My case might be slightly different than yours coz I am a student here in the United States. My FBI background check took 3 months here in US. I suggest you could apply for GCMS note. Hopefully you will get PPR by October.

I worry about my file last week 3 times the background check changed status: first was Not started then changed to Not needed at this time then In progress and now again is Not needed at this time....I don't know what is going on?

My wife finally got her PR visa stamped at New York visa office (visa says issued at New Delhi because her file was processed at NDVO)!

Quick question: The 5yr countdown for PR status obligation starts on the day my wife lands, is it?
