Hi waheguruji - my husband is the sponser - canadian citizen. I am the applicant. We decided not to change anything or add his name on my passport. We submitted everything as it is without changes becuz we were afraid that getting the new passport with husband's name added would delay the process - since we all know how looongg the passport offices take to work here.

Also one of my friends - who's husband was the sponser - they had made the choice of adding husband name to her passport and changing her last name to her husband's - well the passport office here took 3 months to issue her the new changed / updated passport and thts how her paper work got delayed.

So hope these two scenarios help you make a better decision. These are my own personal experiences from the Kolkata Passport Office - I dont know where in India you are though.

Don't worry about it. It has no impact

just want to share my experience wid u. i went for my honeymoon and d immigration officer at airport told me to include in spouse's name in d passport otherwise next time they 'll not give us entry. Hope this will help u.....

Flytoronto - where did you and yr spouse go for honeymoon tht the immigration officer wud say something like tht you? Which airport / port of entry was this? Are you the sponser or the applicant? Just curious to know if this was an indian immigration officer? becuz my hubby & i went on our honeymoon too - and we did not face this anywhere we went.

I think u should not get worried by this..since u got approved by CIC Canada..Adding hubby name is another proof that ur relationship is genuine and if u have not added it it wont affect ur case.

dont worry about ur ECAS address . ur passport will come to address mention on ur cover lettter. so dont worry. i m also waiting for pp i got DM on 3rd still waiting for my passport. lets hope we will receive our PP this Week. Please share when receive the PP.

before sending PP, u shud add Spouse name.........this is another proof of genuine relationship.
but if u already submitted withou spouse name, even then its ok....no issue at all........if u already send enough proof.......
so dont wory....

Hi Jasso thanks for the wishes, I m from Srinagar Kashmir, my ecase reflects both addresses, my Kashmiri home address as well of Toronto, they updated new address on 7th Sept

on ECAS,after DM, u entered ur sponsor information or now start entering applicant information.
