Hey guys, been working a broiler cook for the past 18 months which is on the skilled list. Had this job on a working holiday visa (2 years) apparently I qualify, though the NOC job description on the education side says I need high school + 3 years commercial cooking or cooking diploma. I was given this job since I had previous kitchen experience as a dishwasher etc. Do I still qualify? I see no rule stating I need the education requirements for the job as I'm a temporary foreign worker but having doubts.

You are right, there is no rule. In fact, it is explicitly stated that only the duties/responsibilties will be evaluated, and that the education/experience requirements identified in the NOC are not to be considered (for immigration purposes). The exception would be for regulated occupations (e.g. physicians, nurses...)

We could have another column to note deviations. Example - Affidavit submitted in absence of Birth Certificate, Letter of Ref. submitted does not contain Duties & Resp, No NOA submitted etc.
This can help others to track our status and learn from our mistakes. Any more suggestions ?

Hi everybody
I just have a question about new CEC. If my wife is applying under Quebec Skill Worker, her and I already pass and sent the medical exam result to CIC Ottawa. I work in a bank in toronto for more than 24 months now. Should I go ahead and apply under CEC or i'm waiting my wife to get her PR and sponsor me? Only downsize is if i apply to CEC is plan to live outside Quebec but my wife signed declaration is intend to live in Quebec.
