thank you Leon for your fast response.. you are always helpful :D

I have a stupid Q, if my child is jordanian but is a resident in Saudi Arabia..so to which visa office I should apply? the one responsible for Jordan or Saudi? do you have any idea which visa office is responsible for both countries? for us as a skilled worker immigrants we were referring to London Visa Office as she is the one responsible for immigration from Saudi Arabia.. but is it the same for the child?

thank you again..

thank you steaky for ur replies.. I will check about Calgary thank u ;D

now what about sponsoring child from inside canada if one parent go to canada and sponsor.. what is the procedure? for whom i have to apply for sponsoring? how long does it take? the child has to be outside canada all the period or he can be in canada after certain time of applying of sponsoring even if its his PR visa is not issued yet..

please help.. im still confused and cant decide!!

Leon please let me know if you have an answer for any of my q's above? "the child has to be outside canada all the period or he can be in canada after certain time of applying of sponsoring even if its his PR visa is not issued yet? "

Since the child is not visa exempted, there is no guarantee that a visa can be issued to him before PR visa. Deliver your baby in Canada is still your best bet if you want your whole family to be together at all times.

Having applied for PR for the baby does not mean that the baby can get a visa to go to Canada earlier. If your baby has permanent residency in one country and a passport from another, it is up to you which visa office you pick to process your case. You can see which visa office is responsible for each country here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

Yes steaky I know that delivering the baby is the easiest way for all of us.. but im just trying to be ready for anything would happen our of our hands..

thanks Leon for the info's you had provided.. and yes I checked the link before.. but can you please check the row for saudi arabia,, it says that if for PR as a skilled worker then london visa office is the responsible one.. is it applied on our son too because we r under skilled worker? or he s under the other classes which makes abudhabi the visa office? also for TRP, is it under temporary resident visa which makes riyadh the visa office for issuing TRP?
sorry but I just want to be sure..

Thank you so much...

You had applied under skilled worker but this would be a brand new application and as your son is not a skilled worker yet, the application would probably end up in Abu Dhabi. However, if you look at your forms, you must mail them to Mississauga and although you write the name of the visa office you want, they will make the final decision on where to send it.

so I understand that the baby has to be outside Canada for all the period including Step 1 and Step 2 in sponsoring the child referring to this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

please just confirm my understanding.. thank you..

Thanks alot Leon.. that means I can choose a visa office by myself??

if its gonna end in abu Dhabi it says it may take 27 months for sponsoring a child only in processing Step 2??!! is it real??

what about the sponsor? does he have to be in canada for all the period till the child is accepted? or he can apply from canada then he can travel and come back after a certain time?

The sponsor needs to be residing in Canada. A short vacation might be ok but if immigration finds out that the sponsor is not in Canada, they can cancel the application.

You do not have a choice of every visa office in the world. Only the visa office responsible for the nationality of the baby or the visa office of residency if you and the baby have a visa to stay there.

Isn't it for spouse and/or child? The timelines given are for 80% of cases so if your case is faster than 80%, it will also be faster than 27 months. Cases of babies are also faster than spouses because for a baby there is no background check and the medicals are simple.
