Need some advice

My stepson has put in his application to sponsor his wife in Sao Paulo Brazil. The application is there now and they are waiting to hear from the consulate. This week we found out that my stepson is mostly likely going to be have surgery to his brain. Is there any sort of humanitarian application for a temp visa for her to be here with my stepson while he undergoes this surgery. Any suggestions on what we can do would be appreciated.

She should apply for a regular visitor visa, state the reason for her visit in a cover letter and provide supporting documents for the planned surgery.
