Hi everyone, can anybody please help me? What are the requirements to extend my work permit with the same employer? I am a live in caregiver and my work permit will expire on May 2011. I phoned CIC today and the officer told me that I need a new LMO and my employer needs to advertise again. Am I hearing this right? Because a friend of mine just renewed hers and she did not submit a new LMO. One more thing do I need a new contract because I only worked for my current employer for 1 year and 5 months and it says on the contract that I signed before, the duration is 2 years, you think that would be still valid or I'll just ask for a new one? I just went through this and just received a couple of weeks ago my WP extension. You don't need new LMO but YES you need a NEW 7-page Employment Contract, Job Offer Letter of Employment that your employer still need your service (there's a format for this too), Payment IMM5401, and be sure your passport still valid (in my case my employer extend me 1 year contract but CPC-V issued me 3 years WP extension they'd based on the expiry of my passport.
