Need advice on situation for my friend:
Situation :
- One of my friend applied for PR , His AOR received but MR and next steps are not yet received.
- His Current WP is till Sept 2015 , so he can not apply for BOWP also.
- Because of some reason his current project is over in Canada so the Home company is calling him back but he don't want to go as his plan was to get PR and resign and work here in Canada.
Question:
- What all options he is having , can he stay here till June 2015 and apply for BOWP after that? (But hopefully he will get PR by that time )
- WP associated with Company? Or he can resign and stay here on basis of current WP he is having and Search for another JOB on basis of WP is is having till sept 2015.
- Any other Suggestion which will help him

CIC issued the work permit to your friend, the company has no authority over his immigration status. He can stay in Canada to the end of the work permit. But if it is a closed work permit, he cannot use it to work for anyone else. If he can find another job, the new employer will have to apply for an LMIA and he will have to get a new work permit before he can start working.

Yes One more Question, His Wife recently got Open WP and she is working on Canada (on basis of Open WP),
Since she got Open WP based on his Current ongoing WP, so as soon as His WP will move to Closed his Wife Open WP will also closed or it will not impact her ?

As long as they remain in Canada, she can continue to work on the spouse's Open Work Permit (SOWP) until it expires. If he gets a new work permit (closed, or BOWP), she can apply to extend her SOWP. (Alternatively, if she is in a skilled occupation and can get an LMIA from her employer, she could apply for the TWP and then he could get a SOWP...).
