here goes.....i have a friend that is a native american indian that is born in canada....she is married to a man from Guataumala but they met in the united states and got married to him...the problem is that he been in america for 10yrs and now he is getting deported back to his country for been an illegal immigrant...they have kids together also and she was living with him for 5 yrs like a loving family....since he getting deported....she wants to sponsor him to come to canada once he is back in his home country.....what would she have to do to get him to canada without any problem or what would she have to do....
PS. please give me your advice on what she can do to sponsor her hubby....

From my understanding, she can sponsor him, they will just look a lot more closely at him and he will have to explain why he had to be deported. He will also need an FBI clearance as he's been in the US for longer than 6 months. If he has any criminal issues, they need to be dealt with before she sponsors him however. That said, the deportation is a red flag, not saying it's not worth it to try to sponsor him, but it is a red flag.

I would make sure the DUI is totally off his record, because if it is there, he is deemed inadmissible to Canada, so then he would have to get that fixed. I think in either case, he needs to have it fixed. But for sure, I know for a fact with the DUI he will be inadmissible to Canada until he fixes that and gets some paperwork done (I can't tell what they are, never been through it but had heard a few stories of people being denied at the border due to DUI's)
