Can anyone help me with the following queries on W1 Work visa.
I have a W1 work visa valid till 2015/Jan and a closed work permit through my current employer. I have returned to my home country. Whether I am eligible to travel again to Canada with my current W1 work visa through a new employer with a new work permit. I would like to specifically know whether I can make use of my existing W1 work visa for another employer who offered me a position in Canada with a new work permit.
Is W1 work permit is specifically tied to a particular employer? if yes, is it possible to transfer the current W1 visa to the new employer. I am totally aware of the work permit as I need a new work permit to work with the new employer and my query is about the W1 visa.
No - you cannot use your exisiting work permit to work for a different employer. Yes - your current work permit is tied to a specific employer and job. No - it's not possible to transfer the work permit to a new employer.
If you want to work for a new employer then your new employer needs to obtain a new approved LMO and then you must apply for a new closed work permit.
