*Asking for a friend who is stuck*
Hello, I moved to Toronto from USA via road border in Feb 2021. When I entered Canada, the border service officer looked at my W1 visa stamp on passport and issued the work permit to me which is valid until 2023. However he put a big wavy line on the W1 visa (almost looks like it has been cancelled). Nothing was written on it though.
I flew to India In march, when boarding the flight, the gate agents did not let me board looking at the line on my W1. I do have the work permit with me on my passport which is valid.
What is needed to reenter Canada, both the work permit and W1 visa or just the work permit? I am stuck and not sure how to resolve this issue. Do I need a new W1 visa stamp on my passport
