Thanks Canuck! I was thinking the stamped date was when you had to leave so that would have been odd lol.. So even though she has a return flight for Oct 26/14 we can just not use it and she has a legal stay here again for 6 months?

Shouting is totally understandable . She doesn't need to use the return flight and can stay here for 6 months on just that stamp.

Make sure that you are sending the latest versions of all of the forms.

I know that at least one form [IMM1344] was revised last month and a few August applicants had their entire application returned because they submitted the old form.

Just want to check on some things we need to send in with the application.. Does my wife need to send in her original birth certificate or just a copy? Can we send in a copy of our marriage certificate or do we need to send the original? Do I need to send in a original of my divorce certificate or a copy? If originals are needed for some of these items are they good at returning them to you again?

Copies are fine unless they explicitly ask for the original. The only original documents we sent in was the FBI letter and the envelope we got from the doctor who did her medicals (which may not apply anymore since it sounds like most doctors send the info electronically to CIC directly). We sent in some original stuff for the relationship proof like airline boarding passes and some personal cards and such.

We received nothing back from CIC though I would guess (hope) that they would return important personal docs like a birth certificate if you decided for some reason to send the original.

Well as of today (Sunday Sept 21/14) we have mailed off our package, yay! 8) I must say though that we feel worried that they may lose stuff or mix it up etc.. There were three envelopes of all our forms and stuff that we put inside one bigger envelope and mailed off.. I hope whoever works on our case is an organized and very careful person :'(

Feels good to finally have it all sent off though, whew!

Thank you! It arrived a day later than they said it would at the post office and when we put in the tracking number no one had signed for it. We called Canada Post and they were able to see it was signed for and they are mailing off a copy of who signed for our package. Whew that is a relief! ???
