I am planning to file a PR. But with me as primary applicant i am stuck around 330 score. Thereby not qualifying. Where as my wife is an IMG and with her as primary the score is significantly better since a consultant told me that her 5 years MBBS degree counts for two Bachelor programs. She should be primary.
Knowing that Canada is a closed door for IMGs, she is also not interested to practice. If all the hurdles get crossed then practicing will be a bonus else she is happy to do other things.
So my questions is, are MMBS degress regarded as 2 years bachelor degrees? Can she be a primary applicant? Also once we land, I the spouse will be the primary bread earner. So can I give this strategy a go ?
Yes. Even if your wife is the primary applicant, you both can work as whatever you want after landing as PRs. No need to be tied to the NOC you applied as.
IMG's if you know. Can you pitch in please? Really need to know this. Also do let me know the evaluation process for the dual degree, if indeed that is possible.
If anything an IMG is a professional degree. If your spouse wants to contunue practicing medicine in Canada she should look at how dififcult it will be and almost impossible for some specialties.
