Hello,
this waiting time with CNO is killing. Called CNO today and after 2 hours they answered call and still saying the same as I have to wait for the evaluation to be completed. They can't say any time frame. it is such a big organisation and can't figure out what happened to them all of a sudden. Can't believe now that the computer up gradation takes such a long time in this tech world. Just expressing my frustration.

.Hello, Iam IEN RN , completed additional studies in Athabasca university and Fanshawae college after IENCAP in Ontario, is anybody in this group waiting after completing additional education required by CNO? Thanks
Hello,
I didn't complete additional education after IENCAP but I am wondering: did CNO recommend the courses/schools where you studied after IENCAP? Just wondering how you came to choose those schools or courses.

CNO says "For those of you waiting to hear about the status of your application, we are working to quicken the processing time. We will ensure RPN applicants are able to register for their upcoming exam, and we are prioritizing Temporary Class applications". Really though, I think they likely downsized their staff to save money and this is why everything is taking so long. I also think they have prioritizing a few things that the government has asked them to prioritize, because they are kind of on standby for a government babysitter ever since this Wetlauffer serial killer case. They are likely close to having a government trustee appointed to oversee them.

Oh okay. I didn't realize CNO was now pre-approving courses other than the rncompetencies.ca courses. Previously they refused to pre-approve them and they would only evaluate them after the applicant completed the course. Which totally sucks.
Another week another wait...ive sent my letter asking to speak with someone and to let them know how unprofessional the lack of clarity and communication is from last week...who knows if or when ill get a response...seems getting licensed here in ontario is like putting your whole life on pause...

Yes NCLEX-RN is acknowledged in all provinces in Canada--it's the exact same test in Canada & US. You will not have to write NCLEX-RN again.
Plan for this process to take up to one year as many US-educated nurses' course syllabi have been deemed "non-comparable" by NNAS.
On a side note i renewed my BLS here along with my ACLS and PALS...was a great lil refresher for me...being a ICU nurse...just doing little things to keep my mind occupied.
