MSC,

My honest advise is that, once you filed your apps just let it go though the system and hope for the best, if CIC need more documents they will let you know anyways.

I filed my apps just recently and i am worried like crazy - about, how i could have done this better or that better - its really is endless/needles worries i think.

Thats my .02cents

Can someone let me know;

Did anyone receive any AOR from Nairobi?
How do they contact you? Email? Mail?

Please let me know.

Hi Mosa786,

My spouse received AOR from Nairobi by Mail( snail mail) they did not respond to any questions we sent to them through electronic mail.

Thank you for your reply. So, she received it, is she sponsoring you? Who is supposed to get it? The applicant or the sponsor?

Tobe we have the same timeline for the Nairobi office ... wishing us luck!!!! Your right just to let the process take place... we have a long wait but positive thoughts will get us through!

Even though this thread is not very active, I wanted to post my timeline here for anyone who might be looking for this information in the future. I find it hard to believe that there are so few people processing a family class sponsorship app through Nairobi VO!

My timeline: Sponsorship for PR for my husband

Application received: August 28, 2012
Sponsorship approved: October 10, 2012
App transferred to Nairobi: October 10, 2012
Processing of app began: November 29, 2012
Passport requested: December 3, 2012
Visa Issued: December 16th, 2012
Hubby landed: December 31, 2012

Total time: 3 months 19 days

It seems as long as you send everything required and significant proof, the processing should be quick and straightforward. For anyone going through Nairobi VO - don't get scared by the 31 months processing estimate, it will NOT take that long!!

Hello all,

any updates to those who already posted here? or any other "Canadian Sponsor/ Kenyan Applicant" PR spousal sponsorship application timelines or stories?

Best regards,
2012
8th Nov: CIC received application in Mississauga
4th Dec: Approved as sponsor
5th Dec: Medical results have been received (results were sent from Nairobi in August 2012 and then held until the application was received)
2013
3rd Jan: No new update

Hi my Nairobian fellas,

I would like to hear your experience on the correspondence between you and the VO, was the requests (medicals, additional docs..etc) and notifications (AORs) mainly through email or postal service?

Also when the Visa is ready with the COPR , how did you guys receive it, did u pick it up by yourselves or they have sent it to your mailing address via DHL. For pickup request were they sent to you via email or post?
I am based in Somalia where postal services does not exist other than DHL, I am so worried that i am gonna miss some correspondence, also i was thinking how I am going to receive my Visa, Single Journey Travel document (SJTD) and the COPR

Hi everyone,

Just wondering whether there are as many people processing via the Nairobi office as there were over the last three years. Maybe they are very few this year which would mean faster processing time for us (hopeful sigh). It is very tough trying to arrange your life and make plans around dates you are not even sure of. Worse is how bad I miss my husband and Nairobi is not the same without him. I hope we can start our lives together very very soon.

Updates from people going through the process would be great.

Wow...........this was super fast!! I guess if there are less people applying under family class then it could be a good sign. Now the time frame has gone to 27 months so let see and hope for the best. I miss my hubby and i cant wait to see him in 44 days from now :-* :P
