Nafta work permit/Outland sponsorship

Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forum so my apologies if I posted this in the wrong section. Anyways, my wife and I just got our AOR for our outland sponsorship! (She is moving from the state's to Canada).

My question is, would my wife be able to apply for a nafta work permit while we are still waiting for the outland sponsorship to process? Or is that impossible to do while keeping in accordance with the rules of outland sponsorship?
