My father born in Canada, moved to USA, is he still a citizen?

My father was born in Quebec, and left at the age of 5. He spent the rest of his life in the USA. I have his baptism record in Montreal. I heard I could possibly be granted citizenship because he was born there. But since he was in the army during WWII, would he had to have renounced his citizenship? He has died so I can't ask him. How can I find out if he renounced his citizenship?

I think that you will have to locate his birth certificate. Not sure that a baptism record will be enough as it's not an official document.

1. It is unlikely that he renounced his ctizenship.
2. You would need a copy of his long birth certificate. Here is how you apply : http://www.etatcivil.gouv.qc.ca/en/certificate-copy-act.html
3. Then you can apply for proof of citizenship.
