Hi friends, my dad is under investigation because of his friend. My dad sponsor me and my sibling. His friend made complint against my dad and said to immigration we used fake documents which is complelty wrong . I am not anymore in sponsorship I am 26yrs now . It would be effect on my citizenship ????please need your answer. Our all documents are original.
I think you should explain your family situation before expecting anyone knowing what exactly is going on from the begining up til now. If you are a citizen i guess you are safe unless..you really did something big & illegal, you may end up in jail.not to scare you..you probably need a lawyer :

My dad never used fake documents. His friend is just ass hole. Now RCMP is asking for polygraph. Polygraph always make you nervous that's why I am scare.

well you should not be scared if you say that every paper and everything is real and not fake. Dont worry about the polygraph if you have nothing to hide it should come clear..

Like Scylla said, if outcome of the investigation is that PR was fraudulently obtained, PR can be revoked. I don't think expiration of sponsorship has anything to do with it. That said, I don't think they can/would do anything while an investigation is pending...if they did it would probably be a due process violation. Ask a qualified lawyer.
I agree with frege here: I wouldn't submit to a polygraph test. You (or your father) are not under an obligation to prove you are innocent - CBSA and CIC must prove you are guilty of misrepresentation.
I also agree with Scylla - your father should obtain an attorney. Further, note that even if your father were found guilty of misrepresentation (and it sounds like there's an investigation which is the first step along a very difficult path) it would not impact your own status in Canada at this point. To penalize you, they would need to demonstrate you were guilty of misrepresentation. We do not punish the children for the acts of the parents.
This person wrote a "poison pen" letter and I've read cases in which the Federal Court looks at them rather dimly - they are unsworn claims that hold very little weight. CBSA and CIC might take it seriously enough to launch an investigation, but your father is innocent until they can collect real evidence and prove actual misrepresentation. Accusations are not proof.
But prosecutors are good at taking innocent things and making them look guilty. That's why you need an attorney - someone who knows the system can chew you up and will stand up for you.

Agreed. It could certainly affect your PR status if CIC determines your status was obtained through fraud. It doesn't matter that you aren't under sponsorship anymore. I agree the others who have recommended to get a lawyer involved.
