Yes, it will probably be a problem along with his brothers refugee claim. I would think it will be refused for travel history, reasons for travel to Canada and ties to Canada/home country.

but MOHAMAD11 has already gotten his visa despite his brothers' refugee claim, the embassy has requested his passport 2 days ago... so I guess it will not be a problem for his other brother.

Yes. My application got approve last week and i got ppr regardless of my brother status. Not only my application, but also my parents and my other sister TRV also accepted in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Our concern is only the reason of my brother to visit canada which is attending a compitition which he will miss surely, and not my brother way of immigration.

Oh my goodness! I and others have repeated told you that visa officers don’t make decisions based on travel dates. You can actually search the forum for instances where people still for the visa even though the date of the events have passed. Your brother’s outcome is not based on his travel date but rather his ability to convince the visa officer he won’t overstay.

There have been some cases on this forum where they were refused because the purpose of visit was no longer valid. It was found when notes were ordered for the file.

As I said in your other thread, given your brother came to Canada as a refugee, your chances of approval are very low.

We just recieved an update from MP that my brother file is still in processing time frame but the filr already sent to ottawa for further review.
Any idea what that mean and why the TRV application transfered to Ottawa?

The most worrying point is still the brother who came to Canada as a refugee.

My *GUESS* is this was transferred to Ottawa because of the brother + to verify this competition.

There was a poster not to long ago that was going to attend a conference, the visa was refused, then he ordered notes and one of the reasons was that the conference was already passed so question the purpose.

Thank you. I was thinking the same as the purpose.... Now his application transfer to ottawa. I dont know why the TRV application transfered to ottawa
