Count me in, same situation. Here is the timeline and my situation :
Status : FSW-Outland / Belgium / with valid LMIA
EE profile submitted : Oct 29
ITA: Nov 13
Submitted: Dec 12
AOR: Dec 14
Meds Passed: Dec 15 (were done upfront)
Bkground Chk in progress: Dec 17
Then Bkground chk changed to not needed at this time: Dec 27
Do you guys think changing BG to not needed at this time reflects on GCMS notes?? I have ordered mine yesterday after my BG got change to not needed at this time. Let see if from GCMS notes we get the reason for that..
Has anyone else requested notes after their BG status got changed??
Same boat as you (PGWP expiring mid March as well) but how did you apply for the BOWP?
Did you receive the Second AOR knowing that the application is complete?
I have the BG check in progress as well but not sure when should I apply for BOWP (assuming if by March still no final decision's made)
You can apply for BOWP from your online CIC account. You should have the option to apply for Work Permit. Follow the instructions and fill in your details to process the application.
I have read the entire thread. Am I right in assuming that BG check going from "in progress" to "not needed at this time" is actually a progress? Can I assume this is good news?
In my case AOR, all "medical check passed", BG check "in progress" and BG check "not needed" happened within a 2 weeks period. Do you think this is possible (assuming it really is good news)?

It is possible. My aor was 16.11. I've ordered gcms in 16.12 after one month and received them after ppr just a couple of days ago. When mycic displayed 'not started' they were actually doing bg checks. The file moved to my local vo within 3 weeks from aor. So you never know. Other thing is that I'm a pnp nominee and it tends to be faster.
